The drama series "Luck" has a large ensemble cast and a great central performance from Joan Allen, but the pilot does not do much to introduce the main characters. There was little screen time for Tony Soprano, Jimmy McNulty, Nucky Thompson, or any other major characters. Hoffman and Farina are also given the same amount of screen time as each other. The series is an engaging study of life in the Wild West, with a theme of how order can be restored when the people are in chaos. Ian McShane portrays this role perfectly.

The story revolves around the lives of three individuals: Seth Bullock (Michael Douglas), Alma Garret (Kim Dickens), and Brom Garret (Steve Carell). The last character, Brom Garret, has the word "mark" tattooed on his forehead, making him an easy target for Al Swearengen, the town's biggest predator.

If you're a fan of Milch's westerns, Deadwood will be a welcome addition to your viewing list.
